Atlanta Leads Sex Traffic in U.S. & How Our Children’s Keeper Plans to Lower Rates

Atlanta, Georgia has the largest sex trade in the U.S according to the United States Justice Department. Not only is Atlanta known as the largest city for sex traffic, it is recognized as one of the top 14 cities in which children are forced into prostitution.  Each night there are more than 100 young girls exploited in the city. There are even more sold young girls sold online in the state of Georgia. The children and adolescents most susceptible to becoming a victim of the sex trade are those who are homeless, runaways, or come from broken homes. A contributing factor to Atlanta’s high rates is the heavy traffic through the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Our Children’s Keeper (OCK), is trying to prevent occurrences of this epidemic. OCK is a non-profit organization created to help end child sex trafficking and to assist in the recovery of abducted and missing children in the greater Atlanta area. OCK not only assists victims with escaping trafficking, but they also assists victims with rebuilding their lives and recovering from trauma
